  • Zimbabwe Takes Over COP15 Presidency

In a historic moment during the opening of the high-level segment in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe officially assumed the presidency of the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, taking over from China.

The symbolic handover was marked by the exchange of the Ramsar flag, as Honourable Evelyn Ndlovu , Zimbabwe’s Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, accepted the role of COP15 President under the theme “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future.”

With global leaders and delegates in attendance, Zimbabwe now leads the charge towards wetland restoration, community involvement, and the adoption of the landmark Victoria Falls Declaration.
